Yesterday I shared the turning point my in journey when I realized that the way I coped with being 'out of control' was to become anxious and protect myself...

Today I want to ask you some questions to get you thinking... Journal Time...get out something you can write on and answer the following...

1. What to you try to control in your life?

2. What are the benefits to you in controlling those situations?

3. Does your controlling those situations hurt people in your life?

4. What do you need to relinquish control over?

If you have safe people in your life ask theme these questions regarding you and see if their answers match yours...

Here is a funny story about my control...I bought an enlargement of a photo that came as a large canvas sticker...I was in the living room trying to place this 'sticker' on a sheet of metal to create a magnet board...It was difficult to get the photo on straight and I was OBVIOUSLY struggling...exasperated I looked at my mom and said "a little help please! Why have you not offered to help me?" and she responded "April, sometimes it is hard to help you because you want everything perfect." I laughed it off, but later accepted that she was right...usually no one can do something the way I want it to be done...did you notice I didn't ask for help during this ordeal until I was defeated? If I am honest I was waiting for someone to offer to help me, but the help never came because of me...

Tomorrow Mark C Ryan is guest posting on Matthew 6:26 and Saturday we will discover some ways to let go of control without allowing anxiety to overtake...

Carelessly,

April
